Pain Reduction: Dr. Wally Schmitt & Dr. Jerold Morantz Teach at The Institutes Annual Conference 11/6/2014

Each year at this time The Institutes invites members of its research team to present a seminar on a specific topic or to present case histories for problem solving.

Schmitt Teaching

Dr. Schmitt teaches pain relief techniques

Dr. Schmitt and Dr. Morantz, long-standing members of The Academy for Child Brain Development, have instructed The Institutes staff in the Applied Kinesiology techniques of fascial flushing and Golgi tendon organ and muscle spindle cell stimulation to improve hip dysplagia in brain-injured children.

This year their focus was on pain reduction. Dr. Morantz and Dr. Schmitt made a presentation on simple, safe techniques to eliminate both acute pain and chronic pain.

Many hurt children, especially those who are unable to move or who crawl poorly, have intermittent pain or chronic pain. This can interrupt or even stop their accomplishment of a consistent neurological program. Sometimes this pain can become life-threatening.

The program employs the simple procedure of tapping points on the face with the finger in combination with another pain-related stimulus. The results are rapid, almost immediate, and although the techniques may need to be repeated, they are usually long-lasting.

Dr. Schmitt has published his third book, “Stop Your Pain Now,” which is written so that anyone can use the techniques to reduce and eliminate pain. The Institutes staff learned these techniques in order to teach parents how to help their children who may be experiencing pain.

Once again it was a fascinating and stimulating day that concluded with a very practical and workable plan that will help our children all over the world.

A Self-Help Handbook for Relieving Pain

by Dr. Walter Schmitt

These simple methods really work, regardless of how long ago your injury occurred, regardless if your pain is a result of an injury that happened five seconds ago or as long as ten or fifteen or twenty years ago and you still have pain. You can use these methods with remarkable results.

This book deals with acute pain. It deals with chronic pain. It provides information that I developed in my 25 years of clinical experience and that you will not be able to find anywhere else. For the past twelve years this information has only been available when presented to doctors at professional conferences. Now, and for the first time, we are making this information available to you – the same information that we have been teaching to medical professionals. Other than my original professional papers which were presented at professional conferences, you will not find it printed in any other books or articles or papers that are published on pain. You can readily use these methods wherever and whenever you happen to encounter pain. Whether it is acute pain or chronic pain, these techniques will help to eliminate or dramatically reduce your pain

This system is so valuable and effective that I have taught it to my mother, my brother and my sister to help them help themselves control their pain. These are the same instructions I give to my patients when they call in and are experiencing pain or injury. These techniques are so easy to learn that I can actually instruct my patients in how to do them over the phone. What I tell them is the exact same thing you are about to learn through this system.

These methods are very easy to understand and you can use them on yourself and by yourself. All you have to do is just follow the instructions on the charts. In the vast majority of cases you can control or significantly reduce your own pain. Best of luck in reducing your pain, and hopefully achieving a pain-free life.

STOP YOUR PAIN NOW! is a system of pain control and often pain relief based on combining knowledge from modern neurosciences with the ancient science of acupuncture therapy. It was developed by doctors and is based on years of clinical experience. It employs the simple procedure of tapping points on your face with your finger in combination with another pain-related stimulus. The results are rapid, almost immediate, and although the techniques may need to be repeated, they are usually long-lasting.

Included are four techniques all using the same ACUPRESSURE TAPPING POINTS: IMMEDIATE PAIN RELIEF, TOUCH AND TAP, LQM, AND EMOTIONAL STRESS REDUCTION TECHNIQUE. On the following pages, the use of each technique is summarized separately. Also included are charts for the locations of the ACUPRESSURE TAPPING POINTS and PAIN LOCATOR CHARTS for identifying which points to tap to relieve your pain in various body areas.

Dr. Schmitt Increase Range & Motion

Elaine Hollanda is the patient here; after treatment she demonstrates increased range of motion and no pain.

There is also a summary of information on dietary fats which cause and aggravate pain as well as how to identify undetected allergies which are contributing to your pain. The text explaining the methods of STOP YOUR PAIN NOW! is included as the latter part of this book. We wish you well on your newfound freedom from pain.

DIETARY FATS WHICH CAUSE PAIN

If you get relief from aspirin, acetaminophen, ibuprofen, or similar medications, you probably have a fat imbalance in your diet. There are two types of fats that induce or aggravate pain. To completely control your pain you must avoid these.

1) Hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated fats or oils. Read labels. These are in most prepared foods including margarines, vegetable shortenings, most chips, cookies, candy, cakes, popcorn, and other similar snack foods. They are also used in food preparation by most fast food companies, especially in fried foods. Many peanut butters, canned soups, and even some “health food” products contain these unnatural fats and oils. The “trans fats” contained in partially hydrogenated fats and oils have also been shown to have serious health consequences in increasing risk to cancer and heart disease. They should be totally avoided, even if you are not in pain.

2) Animal, dairy, and nut fats. The fats that are found in animal fat, dairy fat, many nuts, and fried foods can also contribute to your pain. Some animal, dairy, and nut fats (but not fried food) are acceptable. Limiting the amounts consumed will help decrease pain. ARE UNDETECTED FOOD ALLERGIES AGGRAVATING YOUR PAIN?

If you have chronic pain, there is a good chance that you have undetected food allergies.

Undetected food allergies account for much needless pain and suffering. The chemicals released in allergic reactions cause and aggravate pain, especially headache pain. Most food allergies are only detected in specific types of modern blood tests and not by skin tests or older blood tests.

The most common food allergens include: wheat, milk, eggs, corn (including corn syrup), soy, and nightshades (potatoes, tomatoes, green peppers, eggplant, paprika, and tobacco), although any food might be an allergen.

To determine if a food is contributing to your pain, eliminate that food from your diet for five to seven days. If your pain is reduced, then you are probably allergic to that food. If you are allergic to more than one food, eliminating one food will result in a brief reduction in pain followed by a recurrence. This is an indication to eliminate other foods until you find all the culprits.
