What To Do About Your Brain-injured Child: October 2025

Our Parents Have their Say

What was the best thing about the course?

“Learning I am the solution just needed better tools.”

Mother, Texas

“It is focused on brain injury and how to help the child to grow neurologically. I admire everything you do to help brain-injured kids. Just the word brain-injured feels very validating instead of any labels used to describe our children. “

Mother/Doctor, Ontario, Canada

“The scope and focus of the course, emphasizing the importance of the family and respecting their choices.”

Mother, Utah

“The whole program in its entirely.”

Mother, Lima, Peru

“The actionable steps available to help kids.”

Father, Texas

“That the course was meticulous and thorough which covered all areas. I appreciate the sincerity and felt that I was handheld and was fully supported in this journey with my child.”

Mother, Dallas, Texas

“Learning to evaluate with the Staff and  The Institutes Developmental Profile, because by knowing the neurological age, we can understand which areas to work on.”

Mother, Peru

“The entire course, really — but if I had to pick something in particular, it would be the mobility section: patterns, crawling, and creeping, which are fundamental parts of development, as well as the nutrition section. Also, having access to the entire Staff to answer our questions through private sessions.”

Father, Peru

“I liked everything.”

Mother, Mexico

“Private sessions with the Staff were open lots of times and I could consult about the program for my baby”

Mother, Tokyo, Japan

“How to arrive at the diagnosis and how to carry out the programs.  Everything was very well explained.”

Father, Lima, Peru

Was it worth the time, effort, and money it cost?

“Without a doubt. This course is priceless. Whatever it costs will be little compared to what you and your child will gain.”

Father, Peru

Absolutely! I have an older child, and I wish I would have started 30 years ago!   This course seemed so complete, I cannot think of anything to be added or that should have been included. I can’t think of anything that would have made this experience any better. Thank you!!!!”

Mother, Utah

“Yes. Thank you all of you for all the journeys, experiments, education, understanding, and encouragement!”

Mother, Texas

“Yes, totally. Everything was very clear, and complete. With all the materials we received, I know we can create a program. Also, if we have any questions, we have our Staff Advocate.  Thank you for all the information gathered over so many years.
It would be even better if there were more days for the course. You give us a lot of hope. I would take the whole course again.”

Mother, Peru

“100%. Thank you. If I could do anything over again and differently, I would have started the program early on so that my family would not have suffered this long.

Bless you allI feel that you have resonated with me in my fight and somebody is finally onboard with it. The feeling of having our backs, which I as a mom of a brain-injured child, desperately needed.”

Mother, Dallas, Texas

“Totally. Thank you for your work. Thank you very much.”

Father, Lima, Peru

“Anything that can help my daughter is worth it. The course was fine and well-organized.”

Father, New York City

“Everything was good. Thank you for your teachings. Thank you for all your advice.”

Mother, Lima, Peru

“The cost and effort were good. The course was comprehensive.  Thanks for the education. I feel better equipped to help our kids.”

Father, Texas

“Yes. Thank you very much and I do hope and will try my best to accelerate the growth of my baby, in line with the average or even superior time frame.”

Mother, Tokyo, Japan

“Yes, very much. Everything went very well. Everything was fine. Thank you very much for continuing this work — because many people eventually give up, but you keep going until the end.”

Mother, Mexico

What is the most important thing you have learned from this course?

“The brain grows with use and stimulation.”

Father, Lima, Peru

“I found everything important. I think the most important thing here is love. No one had ever told me, “Don’t force him,” “He understands,” “Take him into account.” Everyone always said the opposite. My family thinks he doesn’t understand because he does things we tell him not to do, but now I understand it’s simply because he can’t control his body. I understand everything now — because the world wants to underestimate him. But in this course, it was said that there is no correlation between brain injury and intelligence but there is a GREAT CORRELATION between brain-injury and the ability to express intelligence— and that’s what I could see in this course, which I loved. Here, we know our children are intelligent, capable, and above all, human.”

Mother, Mexico

“I learned that no matter the degree of brain injury my daughter has, there will always be a way to improve her quality of life and intellectual performance. We have been given many valuable tools that we will use to achieve our goal of raising a completely valuable and independent girl who loves, values, and respects herself.

Father, Peru

“How to do the home program for my baby effectively.”

Mother, Japan

“As parents, we can have a real impact on our child’s chance for success.”

Father, Texas

“There is hope in helping my child succeed neurologically.”

Mother & Physician, Canada

“With what we learned in this course, we as parents are the most qualified to teach our child.”

Mother, Peru

“We had been working without tools, but now that we have them, we will keep working tirelessly, one day at a time, until we reach what we have dreamed of for our daughter.”

Father, Peru

“How to be a more interactive parent. While I do believe my son is brain injured. I also believe I had no idea what to do outside of my own education which was not going to work for him.”

Mother, Texas

“Love is enough and never leave the wounded behind. Be certain about what you do and do it consistently 7 days a week.”

Mother, Dallas, Texas

“How to work with my son so he can improve in the future.”

Mother, Lima, Peru

How will this change what you do for your child in the future?

“It will change everything — now we have a world of options and tools to work with. Without a doubt, it is the best decision we have made for our daughter’s future well-being and happiness.”

Father, Peru

“I have already changed my perception — now I see my son, not his injury, and I understand it has nothing to do with his intelligence or level of understanding.”

 Mother, Mexico

“I feel the combination of the programs will strengthen our child and our family as a whole.”

Father, Texas

“ This will give us a program to use and empower us to help my daughter and assess her progress.”

Mother, Utah

“We have a plan, it’s just about making it happen now.”

Mother, Texas

“We will design a home treatment program for my child and get started as soon as we are ready. I look forward to bringing my son to The Institutes in the future.”

Mother & Physician, Canada

“I will start the program right away with full intensity.”

Mother, Dallas, Texas

“To be more conscious about my family’s nutrition.”

Mother, Peru

“It will improve the way he learns.”

Father, Lima, Peru

“It will help my son become more independent.”

Mother, Lima, Peru

Was the course what you were expecting?

“Yes, it answered my questions about what to do for my son. It was perfectly structured. There is a lot of information.”

Father, Lima, Peru

“Yes — even better, honestly.”

Mother, Mexico

“It was more!”

Mother, Utah

“Yes, it exceeded my expectations, gave me hope, and a guide on how to start working with my daughter.”

Mother, Peru

Yes. More than my expectation after what I have been dealing with all these years.”

Mother, Dallas, Texas

What would be your advice to a parent considering taking this course?

“That The Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential are the best thing that could happen to a family, because throughout the course, many concerns will be resolved, whether about nutrition, mobility, or all other aspects.”

Mother, Peru

“It would be the best decision they could make for their child’s health and well-being, whether the child has a brain injury or not. It truly unlocks their maximum potential.

We don’t have a specific doctor, but they will certainly notice the progress, and we will gladly share information about how to take the course.”

Father, Peru

“To take it right away — if they think like I did, that they don’t want to give their child antipsychotics, Ritalin, Risperidone, and they’re told that’s the only thing that will help — if they don’t want to think like everyone else, take the risk and do it. Take it, relax, and not stress about it — because this is valuable knowledge.”

Mother, Mexico

Read and reread the ‘What to Do’ book. Be prepared to make life changes.”

Mother, Utah

“Forego the traditional mold. If you want something done properly, you do it yourself.”

Father, New York City

“Parents are the world’s best therapists. Take lots of notes.”

Mother, Dallas, Texas

“Take the course because it’s very interesting and important to help our children.”

Mother, Lima, Peru

“That the course will give them the tools to help their child.”

Father, Lima, Peru

“It’s great.”

Mother, Tokyo, Japan
