Since 1955, The Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential has taught parents about brain growth and development.
Brain growth is a dynamic process. It is a process that can be stopped or slowed by brain-injury, but most importantly it is a process that can be sped up.
The brain grows by use.
Stimulation and opportunity create brain growth.
Many medications suppress brain function.
This course is intended for features rooted in brain‑based developmental challenges, not simply labels or symptoms. IAHP asks parents to complete a detailed questionnaire and have their clinical staff review the child’s history. If your child’s difficulties stem from brain injury or dysfunction, they are eligible and can benefit from this program.
The course provides a functional neurological evaluation, helping you understand which areas of your child’s brain need support, and gives you a clear “battle plan” for growth in mobility, cognition, and physiology.
IAHP’s approach is applicable across a wide range, from infants to young adults. Their Developmental Profile and programming are based on functional brain age, not chronological age.
Parents learn to assess their child’s neurological developmental stage—regardless of diagnosis or birthdate—and build a customized treatment program accordingly.
This is fundamentally a parent‑focused course. It’s designed to equip parents, not certify professionals.
You will learn the principles of child brain development and how to create and carry out your own home-based program. Professionals are welcome to attend, but the course does not qualify participants to teach or certify others.
You do not need an official medical diagnosis (e.g., autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome) to take the course.
What matters is that your child’s challenges are rooted in the brain, not coincidental physical or external factors.
Even if your child has no formal diagnosis, IAHP’s staff will assess whether their patterns of difficulty stem from neurological origins, and only then recommend you begin treatment at home.
For over 70 years thousands of parents from more than 100 nations have proven that their hurt children can get better when they understand why the brain grows as it does and how to enhance that growth. This is the foundation for a pathway to wellness.
