What Our Parents Have To Say…

I love it. For parents of brain injured kids it is such a great starting point. It should be enough for them to start a program themselves, but also convince them to attend lectures. The clarity of the information is excellent, and I found the site very easy to navigate through. Although this was not one of your objectives, for mums like me it is like a refresher course. As I watched the video clips I found myself saying ‘oh yeah, I forgot why we did that. — Mother, Ireland

This is well designed and programmed. The contents are massive and good enough even for me as a man who graduated from the Institutes’ Programs to see and read again and again. I truly hope this on-line Pathway To Wellness will lead so many parents to the Institutes, make them interested in the Institutes’ programs and help brain-injured children. — Father, Japan, also an Institutes Program Graduate

The Pathway To Wellness IAHP online course is a great tool for us parents. It gives you very clear and valuable information about The Institutes, what is brain-injury, the program amongst others. It clarifies where to start and what to do to start the pathway to wellness.” — Mother, Mexico

Wow!!!!!! As you said in a lecture I have just listened to. Congratulations for this work. It is fantastic. Excellent work, really. I can tell you that I have learned things yesterday and today listening to you and the rest of members. It has been very interesting for me and I can imagine that it has to be more interesting for parents who don’t know as much as I know about you. — Parents, Spain

Everything Parents Need To Get Started

General Information

Join the tens of thousands of parents who have come to The Institutes to learn how to help their children at home. Those parents have proven beyond any doubt that brain-injured children are not hopeless, but instead have tremendous potential. This online course covers three essential areas that are critical for the brain-injured child: Nutrition, Mobility Development, and Intellectual Growth. The course provides critical information about what you need to know, what to do, and what not to do in these three areas. This is essential to ensure that there is nothing slowing down the progress of your child.

Physiology & Nutrition

What we eat and drink affects our energy, sleep, health, concentration, temperament, enthusiasm, and creativity. Hurt children walk a very fine line between good health and illness. They are much more likely to be sensitive to the food they eat, the air they breathe, and the water they drink. Because this is the case, it’s very important to know what to do and what not to do to ensure that they are always getting the support they need to be completely healthy. This course provides thirty short video lectures, each teaching you a vital point about nutrition. The nutrition lectures will be taught by Dr. Richard Rosenbloom, Director of Medical Affairs at The Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential.

Intelligence

For the profoundly hurt child it is always assumed that he or she has little or no intelligence. For the moderately hurt child it is assumed he or she is slow to understand. Even for the moderately hurt child it is assumed that he will never perform as well as his peers intellectually. Is this true or is this nonsense? There is no relationship between brain injury and intelligence, but there is a significant relationship between brain injury and the ability to express intelligence. This course provides thirty-one short video lectures that will teach you what you need to know, what you need to do, and what you should not do to help improve the intelligence of your child. The intelligence lectures will be taught by Susan Aisen, Director of The Institute for the Achievement of Intellectual Excellence and Spencer Doman, staff member of The Institute for the Achievement of Intellectual Excellence.

Mobility

Movement at every level of development is critical to almost every other human function. The development of the sensory and other motor pathways depends on some degree on mobility development. The basic human functions of crawling, creeping, walking, and running are fundamental to human development. This course provides thirty-two short video lectures, each containing a vital point about mobility development. The mobility lectures will be presented by Douglas Doman, Vice Director of The Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential and co-author of Fit Baby, Smart Baby, Your Baby!

Supplemental Content

Besides over two hours of lectures, The Pathway To Wellness also provides parents with Supplemental Reading, Illustrations, Checklists, Diagrams, and a Questions & Answers Forum.
